Founded in 1982 by Josif “Joe” Kozevski, Joe’s has been a cherished Inverness institution for over 28 years, serving up delicious homestyle meals and warm hospitality.
Family is at the heart of everything Joe’s does.
From its humble beginnings in South Florida, where Joe and his young children, Joanna and Jason, worked alongside him, to its current incarnation in a charming art studio-turned-restaurant near Inverness Middle School, the story of Joe’s is woven with family threads.
Joe, a passionate cook with a zest for life, instilled in his children the values of hard work, dedication, and treating customers like family.
He poured his heart and soul into his cooking, creating Hungarian goulash, beef stew, stuffed cabbage, and other delectable dishes from scratch. He even started them young, teaching them the ropes of the restaurant business by cleaning tables and washing dishes.
Joanna and Jason, raised in the restaurant world, embraced their family legacy.
Joanna thrived in the front-of-house, starting as a waitress and eventually managing the business. Jason honed his culinary skills in the kitchen, carrying on his father’s tradition of scratch-made goodness.
Joe’s Family Restaurant wasn’t just a place to eat; it was a place to feel at home.
Loyal regulars, like the late baseball legend Ted Williams, found comfort in the familiar faces and hearty meals. Joe’s even overcame challenges like Chipotle literally knocking down their previous location, thanks to the resilience and determination of the family.
Today, with Joe’s guidance and Joanna and Jason at the helm, the new Joe’s Family Restaurant continues to thrive.
